What The Off Grid Outpost Is (and Isn't)
The Off Grid Outpost is an AI solar planner. We help homeowners plan solar systems and recommend equipment.
We are not a solar installer, equipment retailer, or electrical contractor. We do not sell solar panels, inverters, or batteries. We do not perform installations. By using The Off Grid Outpost, you understand and agree to this distinction.
Solar Designs Are Estimates
Our solar system designs are based on satellite imagery, publicly available weather data, and industry-standard assumptions about equipment performance. They represent our best estimates, not guarantees.
Actual system performance depends on many factors we cannot control, including local weather patterns, shading changes (tree growth, new construction), equipment degradation, installation quality, and utility rate changes. Your actual energy production and savings may differ from our projections.
Equipment Purchases
When you purchase solar equipment through links on The Off Grid Outpost, you are buying directly from the equipment retailer (such as Signature Solar, EcoFlow, or Current Connected). Your purchase agreement, including shipping, returns, and warranty claims, is between you and that retailer.
The Off Grid Outpost is not a party to these transactions and is not responsible for product availability, pricing, shipping, defects, or warranty service. All equipment is covered by manufacturer warranties, not The Off Grid Outpost warranties.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Off Grid Outpost and its team are not liable for:
- Actual solar system performance differing from estimates
- Equipment defects, failures, or compatibility issues
- Installation quality, safety, or code compliance
- Permit denials or inspection failures
- Changes in utility rates, net metering policies, or tax incentives
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our platform or reliance on our recommendations
Our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid to The Off Grid Outpost in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with The Off Grid Outpost, we encourage you to contact us first at privacy@theoffgridoutpost.com so we can try to resolve it directly.
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, both parties agree to resolve the matter through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court. You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity, not as a class member or representative.
Modifications to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Your continued use of The Off Grid Outpost after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
